Let us see how to get started on it.

The quality of paint you are going to use in your home matters a lot. These days, home owners are very particular on the kind of paint used for the interior as well as the exterior walls. Some of the popular names in paints include Asian Paints, Dulux, and Berger Paints. They might be slightly on the expensive side, but you can be rest assured that using good quality paint is definitely worth it.

The colors should blend in with the rooms. Usually the occupants of the rooms decide on the color to be installed in their rooms. Apart from that the interior and exterior paint colors should blend with each other. When you have sorted that out, you will want to ensure that the walls are dry and cleaned.

Once the walls are dry then you can apply the wall decals. It is always beneficial when the walls come without textures. That is because they are smooth. You will want to keep in mind that once you have installed the wall decal, it cannot be reused elsewhere. So, hang it up using a tape and see how it appears.

Perhaps you might want to use another wall decal in that place. It is important that your wall decals are placed in uniform. You should tape the corners just to ensure that they are in level. You must see to that the wall decals are removed from the backing without damage.

To do that you will want to do some research online and find out which are the best.

Users, homeowners, and other experts would have put up their feedback and thoughts about each of the factors and pointers to be taken note of before installation. Of course it is alright to take the consultation of your family members, after all they are going to live in there once the wall decals are installed.

All these will add up for ensuring that your wall decal is the best.

Many home owners approach us with a lot of ideas. Wall decals look stunning and beautiful on the internet and on our website, this attracts a lot of home owners. But their zeal and enthusiasm subsides after sometime or they choose for some other mode of wall décor.

Believe us, if you have the patience and imagination to select the right design for your house, a wall decal would enhance the beauty of your wall and thereby of your home a thousand times more than you see in the picture.

Ravi, a head of a MNC in Bangalore, has been working with us for 3-4 months now for the different compositions he has in his mind for his home in Bangalore. We will describe the astounding Panchamahabhoota composition which he conceptualised, in another article.

This article is about the Mysore palace procession which he was looking to place over the curtain and the vacant space at the entrance of the home. Ravi wanted a wall decal depicting a Mysore palace procession and with his firm commitment to what he wanted and our creative abilities, we created a tailor-made decal exactly as he wanted.

Space above the curtain for which wall decal was needed

This was the space above the curtain where Ravi wanted to place a Mysore palace wall decal:

Brief: “This is for another decal. Really liked this. I wanted a Mysore procession similar to this... will share the pictures now from my older furniture to give context”.

Ravi showed us below pictures from his old furniture to give us an idea of the style he was looking for.

Brief: “So this palace silhouette would be in the center at a bigger size and then there would be a procession on the left and a procession on the right being mirror images of each other. The total length would be 8ft with proportional height but not more than 1ft”

We started making the design as per Ravi’s requirements, some more of his instructions followed and we customized the designs accordingly.

- Would need the palace to be a little wider but could be a little less details also in case it is too fine.

- Need height of the elephant to be slightly higher (as high as camel).

-Is this already in scale for 9ft. Otherwise, there is one horse chariot which is a characteristic one of the Mysore procession. That would be good.

- If you can add a little bit of space between the palace and the camels, then it will standout better

- Will send a couple of pictures of the royal emblem of the Mysore Kings. On the camel, elephant and Horse where you have the flower design, that will look better and also make it uniquely tied to the royal family.

All these discussions happened on watsapp as this was convenient for Ravi as well as our creative team so that both could work at each other’s convenience.

Client: You are all super responsive on whatsapp. That makes a lot of difference for me. Ok...and you r all innovative and creative.

Finally, we and Ravi finalised this Mysore palace procession design for the area above the curtain. These were the final 2 options of the design, Ravi chose the second one.

Mastani - Ethnic Indian wall decal from Kakshyaachitra

Mastani - Ethnic Indian wall decal by Kakshyaachitra

First look of a special 'Ethnic Indian' wall decals series by Kakshyaachitra.

The inspiration was to create beautiful art in a decal form which has it's roots in Indian heritage.

Moreover, the inspiration was Game of Thrones. If they could create such brilliant drama on screen with a fictional story and characters, then we thought there are innumerable braver heroes than John Snow and Ned Stark in the pages of Indian history. There certainly are descriptions of women more beautiful than Khaleesi in our past.

We wanted to bring them back to life. They are as of now confined to the walls of palaces and the pages of history books.

We imagined Mastani to be brought to life again and the brave Indian warriors positioned proudly on every Indian wall.

We believe these designs in magnificent real-life sizes of 4-6 feet will create a splendid new mode of indoor decor. It will etch a piece of India in the home forever. It will embed the grace of the Ashwamedh and of the Airawat in the wall.

We sharing one design from a seasons collection of 10 with you to have a look, this is the first-look of the Mastani wall decal.

Why Kakshyaachitra wall decals are expensive?

Ashok Vatika wall decal

This ethnic Indian Ashoka Vatika decal was installed at Rahul’s place in August 2012 and still is as beautiful as it was when installed. Check this article we wrote in September 2012 after installation of this wall decal which is a magnificent and elegant Ethnic Indian design.

Yes, ours are the most expensive wall decals in the market, we know that. Often callers inform us that a design of similar size is available in the market at much lesser prices.

We decided to answer this question once and for all for all our customers and dealers. Directly, no secret withheld.

If you are a retail customer, you will be paying Rs. 300-350 per square feet for a Kakshyaachitra wall decal. With another new ecommerce website opening up every day, you will find many sellers selling at anything between 100 Rs to 200 Rs per square feet.

The simple reason is that the material they use is substandard and is the same vinyl that is used to make the number plate of your vehicle. It is not aesthetic as you see on the website, and the thickness is surely visible when you install it on your wall. It will also leave a residue on the wall if you try to peel it off.

We, at Kakshyaachitra, use special quality indoor decor vinyl material imported from Germany. We assert that this is the best wall decal material in the entire world and we are one of the very few (almost alone) importers of this material.

That is the reason why our cherished customer Paul has become a lifelong acquaintance since we transformed his Chennai home forever in September 2012. Have a look at the wall decals we installed in his living room, ceiling and bedroom in this and this article.

So, a plain and simple answer to the customer’s question is that you will find Kakshyaachitra decals to be priced higher than other eCommerce retailers is that we are using the best indoor decor material in the world which will effectively transform a plain and ordinary wall into a happening and exciting one.

Happy Home-Decorating

Finding the perfect wall decal design for Lakshmi's home @Goregaon, Mumbai

We will be recently opening an online shop where home owners can choose between and buy Kakshyaachitra decals. Lot of homework needs to be done so that search engines can find the online content and it reaches to the home owners.

Our team was coming up with different meta descriptions that are to be added for different web pages on the Kakshyaachitra decal portal. Below is one of those descriptions:

“Kakshyaachitra offers a wide variety of wall decal designs suitable for different genres and tastes. Check out our online portal, website and blog or drop us a mail to find that perfect decal design for your home.”

And we started questioning ourselves, “Do we really assist home owners in finding the perfect wall decal for their home?”

A recent wonderful installation done at Lakshmi’s house flashed through our memories and we felt happy. Lakshmi and her family have recently returned to settle in India after a long stay in the UK. She knew about wall decals since many home owners in UK install wall decals at their home. Lakshmi had contacted us 3-4 months back while the renovation work was still in progress.

We had about 3 months to discuss what would be best suited for the Living room wall of her house, we deliberated whether to make a wall mural or a wall decal, meanwhile Lakshmi got this Butterfly wall decal installed for one of the bedrooms to ensure the material quality and aesthetic appeal.

Lakshmi always knew that the living room design will have a tree in it. We presented her many options, she searched few on the internet and then she finalised the concept of Buddha and a Tree.

We then designed a decal according to the size of the wall. The outcome is below for you to see. The making of this tremendous, magnificent and gorgeous near-perfect Buddha under the Tree wall decal was a satisfying experience for all of us.
